Features

portable_firefox_small.pngMozilla Firefox is a fast, full-featured web browser that's easy to use. It has lots of great features including popup-blocking, tabbed-browsing, integrated search, improved privacy features, automatic updating and more. Plus, thanks to the PortableApps.com launcher bundled in the Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition, it leaves no personal information behind on the machine you run it on, so you can take your favorite browser along with all your favorite bookmarks and extensions with you wherever you go. New in This Release

In this release, Firefox has been updated to 3.0.4 (release notes) and has an improved launcher.

Reminder: Don't Auto-Update

We also wanted to remind everyone not to use the built in auto-updater with Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition due to an unfixed bug in the updater itself. As with all software in PortableApps.com Format, you can do an in-place upgrade (install the new version right over the old one) and all your data will be preserved. More here: Upgrading Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition and Bug 406335.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Download

Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition is available for immediate download from the Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition homepage. You can get the German release from the German homepage and the French, Italian, Japanese and Simplified Chinese releases from the Localization page. Get it today!

I'll echo the sentiment about getting the release out. You guys do a fantastic job turning things around.

Unfortunately, even with all the performance recommendations using it is somewhat painful. Hesitation when loading pages is my main issue. I'm hoping that some day that will be addressed. Until then, I'll continue to use V2.x.x.x and google browser synch!! Then again, maybe it's time to look at Chrome or Safari?

Thanks again!

Mark

Thanks again for all the hard work in keeping portable Firefox up-to-date, really appreciated Smile

This versions like the other are slow. With a Flash drie with 4GB is also slow.

It depends on the flash drive.

Not the app.

For example, It's really fast on a SanDisk Cruzer Micro, because it was basicly made for PortableApps (u3).

In other sites for example the mozila firefox portable is very fast but in computer already have mozilla load that settings.

PLZ HELP!!

hi,
i updated my old firefox portable 3.0.3 by downloading the 3.0.4 installer & installing it in the same directory of the 3.0.3 . it shows "installation complete" and the browser starts but when i click on "Help" -> "About Mozilla Firefox" the menu shows "Version 3.0.3" - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3

do i still have firefox portable 3.0.3? or does it only not show the 3.0.4?

or should i install the 3.0.4 into a new blank folder & copy only the profiles folder?

PS: i use firefox portable on my pc. not on any kinda flash drive. Smile

k thx in advance Smile

hi!

i come to the PA forum to see if i find help, but i think i know now the problem...

only now i see the item that says: DONT USE THE BUILT IN AUTO-UPDATE

hehehe i think im blind....

i auto-updated the 3.0.3 to 3.0.4 and some days after that, firefox didn't open and others too... i have openoffice, VLC, Pnotes and firefox from PA and WinSCP, Resource Hacker, Dia, Ultrasurf, Messenger and eclipse in the full original version and photoshop CS3 portable and no one works properly after a crash in the firefox...

now i cant delete the folders and cant reinstall... i think it crashed the folder system of my pendrive... but i can save files on it... i need to format it...

this problem can be caused by the auto-update of firefox?

thanks

It's unrelated. You can post a support request in the forums. But if you have stuff like photoshop cs3 portable, it could be viruses/malware on the PC/drive.
