Hi there!

Thank you very much for the fast update and the time and effort you guys put into the PortableApps. You really changed the way I use software.

I use LibreOffice regularly, but I came across a hurdle after upgrading.

During the upgrade progress all traces of the previous installation are removed. This includes the "[APP_FOLDER]\App\Java"-folder. Since I use only LibreOffice on a portable device, I put the portable Java installation there. And of course I specified this in the LibreOffice-settings. When there is no Java to be found, LibreOffice won't start. It simply crashes, doesn't even give an error-message.

Would it be possible to change the upgrade-script so it checks if there are more files in the Java-folder than the "java_readme.txt" that is included in the default installation? So it wouldn't delete the folder if there were more files? This would speed up the upgrade process. Because now I have the upgrade LibreOffice and then reinstall Java.
Might be some users even stumbled upon this and didn't recognize what caused LibreOffice to crash.

I'd appreciate that. Thanks very much for your time, have a nice day and a great weekend!
Best regards,
VSG

I've set it so the next version won't do this to you again. Sorry about that.

No reason to be sorry. Glad to hear my suggestion will be included :).

Just upgraded and now I have a big problem. LibreOffice will not start using the portable launcher LibreOfficePortable.exe.

If I run this program, it set up the PortableApps.comLauncherRuntimeData-LibreOfficePortable.ini in the /Data folder, but nothing else happens. I can see the program still running in Task Manager, but I never get LibreOffice up.

I can still use LibreOffice from the PortableApps install by going into the /App/libreoffice/program folder and running scalc.exe, etc directly, but then I am guessing it is not really running as a portable application if I do it this way, and it is very, very inconvenient!

Anyone have any guesses? I have tried deleting the PortableApps.comLauncherRuntimeData-LibreOfficePortable.ini file, and rebooting, etc. but the same thing happens again. Can't seem to get round it.

Andy.

Can we get a torrent option for LibreOffice? Since SF has capped their downloads at 20kB/s (the PA updater reports a steady 19.4, this is with nothing else on my 1.5MBit connection) it's a little inconvenient to download the normal way, especially as frequent as the downloads are.

I know you track downloads for stats, but maybe for this one, you can track installations?

SF doesn't cap downloads. Your specific mirror may be overloaded at the moment, though. I just downloaded it at 2.7MB/s via LayerJet. You can always download it yourself and pick your mirror. It doesn't work through the updater that way, of course, but then neither would a torrent.

I wonder if there is any possibility to include some certain fonts with Libreofficeportable?
My goal is to put some special fonts into a folder within LibreOffice and then LO can display a document using those fonts correctly even if the font is not installed in the operating system.

We recommend using the PortableApps.com Platform's portable fonts features so you can use your fonts portably with all your apps. That's the best way to do it. If you're not using the platform, you can just place the fonts within your LibreOfficePortable\Data\fonts folder.
