logoPortableApps.com and The Document Foundation are proud to announce the release of LibreOffice Portable 3.6.5. LibreOffice Portable is a full-featured office suite -- including a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation tool, drawing package and database -- packaged as a portable app, so you can take all your documents and office suite wherever you go. This release updates LibreOffice to the latest version. And it installs in as little as 260MB. LibreOffice Portable is packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

Windows Defender under Windows 8 complains about potentially unwanted behaviour and quarantines the exe files during installation of LibreOfficePortable. False positives?

I can't reproduce this on a scan of LibreOffice Portable (Multilingual Normal full install) on a Windows 7 x64 system using Microsoft Security Essentials with the latest definitions files. In theory, it's the same engine. Are you running with the most up to date definitions?

I was using the latest at the time 31/1/13. However, I unquarantined the exe files since receiving your reply and scanned the LibreOfficePortable directory with Windows Defender after updating to the latest definitions 1/2/13 and it didn't complain so it appears to have been a false alarm.

Hi and nice to find you guys
i use to have a libre office portable version in my pc with all the unnecessary languages removed and it holds up to 380mb in my hard drive. But every time try to update through portable platform it always updates me to the full version and holds up to 800-900mb.Then i need to remove completely and install manually removing the unnecessary languages. Can this be fixed?

sorry for my bad english

The ability to remove languages is only done when you install it manually. It is not part of the updater or app store currently. This will be changing shortly but requires changes to the platform as well.
