Platform takes long time to load

Is it normal for the platform to take about 20-30 seconds to load each time? The UI comes right up, but it appears to be scanning for the apps for about 20-30 seconds.

I have one of the fastest USB drives out there and am loading it on a USB 3.0 port, so I really don't think the issues with with the storage device. Is this normal?

Do you

Do you have many apps installed? Maybe someone else has the answer, but I have two different copies, set up on two different drives. Corsair Survivor 3.0 drives, one 16gb the other 32. The 32 has more apps installed on it, it's my daily use, the 16 is more of a backup but gets used from time to time. It seems that the one with more apps takes longer to load than the the other one. Ithas basic apps, Seamonkey, bleachbit, vlc, keepass, just the necessities. The bigger drive has alot of extra apps on it, games, two T-bird profiles, Firefox and Seamonkey, as well as vlc, keepass, bleachbit, speedfonx, notepad++ and several others. Maybe it takes time to read the apps to display them in the platform menu?

Drive, Number of Apps, and Fonts

The speed of the platform loading is related to your drive speed, the number of apps, and the number of fonts you are loading. The more apps you have, the longer it will take to index them on startup (the platform looks at a live view on launch rather than caching from last time at present). A slower drive means this will take longer. Even a USB 3.0 drive can be slow to do this if it uses a slower controller or slower RAM. Lastly, the fonts the platform loads, if you have added any, will load very slowly on Windows 10 Anniversary due to a bug in Windows itself. Hopefully Microsoft will patch this in a future update.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Thanks for replies....all

Thanks for replies....all this seems legit, I mean it's only logical that it's based on the read speed of the drive and the number of apps (as it's obviously populating by reading the drive), it still just seems a bit slow to me.

I don't have any fonts installed, but I checked and I have 48 apps installed on a USB 3.0 drive (with fast read speed ratings). It takes 20-30 seconds.

It's not a huge deal, I was just hoping there might be some thing I had overlooked that would speed up the startup or something.
