Is there already one, and if not that would be cool to have one.

???

Welcome LilJay,

Might be a good idea to tell us what a "Gom" is and why we would want to play it, portably or other wise Wink

A link would be useful,

Tim

well

assuming one thinks that skins are nothing but "foo foo", which I do, you should tell us why you think it would be better to use this than VLC and MPlayer both of which play a lot of different video types and are available at this site already and are open source Wink (I couldn't find GOMs license information.)

This is why

(Sorry for replying to such an old post)
The reason GOM is better than VLC and MPlayer (as far as I know, limited experience with both) is that when GOM is asked to play a file that it doesn't understand, it will identify the necessary codecs and provide a link to download and install them (rather than identifying the necessary codecs yourself). This is a feature of convenience and if it is already present in VLC or MPlayer, then yes, GOM is entirely unnecessary.
