AVG/Adaware/SpyBot

Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but I am new at this. Is there a way that I can run AVG Antivirus, Adaware, and Spybot from my USB? Quite often my parents or friends get "gunk" on their PC's and ask me to clean/fix it. I though it would be great if I could have these installed and ran from the USB, so I can just scan their drives.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Almost...

Hi

Ad-Aware and Spybot can be installed to the thumbdrive (or folder copied over from hard drive). I'd recommend SpywareBlaster for your thumbdrive as well.

AVG will not run from thumbdrive...I'd recommend Portable ClamWin which John Haller has made available right on this site.

If you want to install "protection" to other PCs, you might try this combo of INSTALL files:

Ad-Aware / Spybot / SpywareBlaster / Windows Defender / AVG

and make sure that a firewall is running, preferably a 2-way firewall.

If extra ambitious :-| , there is a standalone version of SP2 for Windows XP avaialble (about 266 MB...probably best to put on a CD) for older XP systems, and an "AutoPatcher" program that can update from SP2 to usually within the last two months or so (200+ MB) to cut down on time (and reboots) when getting the last of the updates with a visit to the Windows Update/Microsoft Update site.

No problem...

As for U3 and Avast, I think that would be fine, but I'll leave that up to someone who knows U3 to chime in Smile
