For anyone wondering why it's been a little quiet around here, there's been a lot going on behind the scenes. We're getting ready to release a new set of updates to the apps and we'd like to get a few more beta testers to take a look at some of the pre-releases. Updated versions of Firefox Portable, OpenOffice.org Portable, AbiWord Portable, Gaim Portable, FileZilla Portable, ClamWin Portable, Portable Apps Backup and more have been posted in the Beta Testing Forum. These updates add new features, new functionality and Vista compatibility among other things. They're not quite ready for general release, so, the more folks we have testing these out, the better. If you have a few minutes to spare, please pop into the Beta Testing Forum and give a few of them a try and post your results back to the appropriate topic. Thanks!

sorry for offtopic...im subcribed to portableapps but never get an email about news...

There hasn't been a news letter yet r any mailings for that matter. That is why you have not received one. None of us have.

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you do or say will be exaggerated or mis-quoted and used against you.

Easy to forget that John has done an expert job with the website - The RSS functionality is perfect. No doubt about it the best way to track developments here.

well, I will start tonite ... it's better than working here in the office and doing stupid things ...

I'm testing the new versions of any apps I use regularly

Great!

I was already thinking the portable apps didn't exist anymore or something...

I just bought an USB drive for Portable Apps (instead of CD-R), so I would be very sad...

Why is my English so bad?

Be glad to help.

I'm a solid daily user of Firefox Portable, and am eagerly anticipating the release of Firefox Portable Final Release. And I use a lot of the other apps available here also, especially Open Office and Sudoku and etc etc.

I have been using Firefox 2.0 and Open Office 2.0.4 and they seem to be great so far.

John,

Please include us in your Beta Tester program. We are extremely excited about the new products and the launch of Vista compatibility. Please contact me at your leisure to discuss.
