KompoZer logoKompoZer Portable 0.7.10 and Nvu Portable 1.0 Revision 5 have been released. They're the popular Nvu and KompoZer web editors bundled with a PortableApps.com launcher as a portable app, so you can edit websites on the go. This new release updates the included KompoZer to 0.7.10, adds portable support for local sites in the site manager, includes digital signatures to ensure integrity and is packaged in a new PortableApps.com Installer for automatic integration with the PortableApps.com Suite. And it's open source and completely free.

Features

portable_nvu_small.pngNvu is an easy-to-use web editor similar to Microsoft Frontpage or Dreamweaver. KompoZer is an unofficial bugfix release that fixes many of the outstanding bugs in Nvu 1.0. As Nvu is no longer updated, use of KompoZer is highly recommended. Learn more about KompoZer...

New In This Release

This release includes several new additions:

  • KompoZer Update - KompoZer has been updated to 0.7.10 adding in new features and bug fixes
  • Portable Site Manager - You can now reference local sites on your portable device within site manager and they will continue to work as you move between PCs
  • Digitally Signed - Both the installer and launcher are digitally signed so you can be sure you're getting the real thing
  • PortableApps.com Installer - Both Nvu and KompoZer are now packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer for easier installation and automatic integration with the PortableApps.com Platform
  • Multiple Languages - Though the main download is in English, multiple language packs are now available from the KompoZer language packs page

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

KompoZer and NVU Portable are packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

if you continue updating apps at that rate we will get to the top5 at sourceforge even faster...:)

nope, not until they update Pidgin, and add editpad lite instead of notepad++
hehe. Blum

oh, and some kind of screen magnifier, other then virtual magnifying glass.
Something that will magnify the ENTIRE screen, and possibly set reverse
video on the screen, which helps the visually impaired a great deal.

(ok, sorry, didn't know links weren't allowed in sigs, it does not say in the rules, so thanks for informing me.)

No thanks, I'll stick with the open-source, sourceforged Notepad++. Not only is it in the spirit of PA (being on sourceforge and all), but it doesn't have this little stipulation:
That is, you may use EditPad Lite if you do not get paid, directly or indirectly, for the work you do with EditPad Lite.
That rules it out for me, seeing as how I do dev work for my paid projects in Notepad++ with PHP. I haven't used EditPad, but I don't see any good reasons to do so.

I've got Portable...
Firefox, Gaim, GIMP, AbiWord, VLC, 7zip, OpenOffice, FileZilla, KompoZer.
Also: WinFrotz, FCEUltra, DOSBox, FSCapture, XVI32, Notepad++

Alright!

Edit: What about switching the Title and download buttons on the app page to list KompoZer first, even though it's being developed off of Nvu, some people may click the first button and download Nvu.
