OpenOffice.org logoOpenOffice.org Portable 2.4 has been released in English, German, French and Italian. It's the popular OpenOffice.org office suite bundled with a PortableApps.com launcher as a portable app so you can edit your documents, spreadsheets and presentations on the go. This new release updates OpenOffice.org to the latest release and fixes some bugs in packaging. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Suite. And it's open source and completely free.

Read on for more details...

Note: The original German package did not include the OpenOffice.org fonts. A second package with them was added and is now linked to.

Features

OpenOffice.org Portable is a full-featured office suite that's compatible with Microsoft Office, Word Perfect, Lotus and other office applications. It's easy-to-use and feature-rich, performing nearly all of the functions you'd expect in an office suite, but at no cost. Learn more about OpenOffice.org...

New in This Release

This release updates OpenOffice.org to 2.4 (release notes), removes the updater (it's local installs only) and fixes some bugs in packaging that were impacting python in 2.3.1.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

OpenOffice.org Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It will automatically upgrade an existing OpenOffice.org Portable installation without affecting your settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Download

OpenOffice.org Portable is available for immediate download from the OpenOffice.org Portable homepage. You can get the German release from the German homepage and the French and Italian releases from the Localization page. Get it today!

Detected a Trojan during installation... Sad

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report Biggrin

You've been here long enough to know:
1. Support requests in forums, NEVER as comments on a news story
2. Verify before submitting with other scanners online. Smalltime spyware scanners have TONS of false positives.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Sorry, I just didn't found the thread to this on regular forum, and was lazy enough to start a new one... Wink

I know this false positives are very frequents and just keep forward...

I just blocked the warning (it was a dll) and on installer's warning I chose "ignore" the program installed well enough, and I tested ok... I suppose it wasn't a very important file, or the old one wasn't replaced and still works, or I just still don't test the area that need that file, or I'm just lucky... Wink
