Features
New in This ReleaseIn this release, Firefox has been updated to 2.0.0.16 (release notes), the launcher has improved startup speed when switching PCs, improved portablization of extensions and better handling of launcher INI settings. The installer has also been improved. Reminder: Don't Auto-UpdateWe also wanted to remind everyone not to use the built in auto-updater with Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition due to an unfixed bug in the updater itself. As with all software in PortableApps.com Format, you can do an in-place upgrade (install the new version right over the old one) and all your data will be preserved. More here: Upgrading Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition and Bug 406335. PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com FormatMozilla Firefox, Portable Edition is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility. DownloadMozilla Firefox, Portable Edition is available for immediate download from the Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition homepage - Legacy Versions section. All languages are available from the 2.0.0.16 link. Get it today! ( categories: )

Mozilla Firefox is a fast, full-featured web browser that's easy to use. It has lots of great features including popup-blocking, tabbed-browsing, integrated search, improved privacy features, automatic updating and more. Plus, thanks to the PortableApps.com launcher bundled in the Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition, it leaves no personal information behind on the machine you run it on, so you can take your favorite browser along with all your favorite bookmarks and extensions with you wherever you go.

...for not forgetting the 2.* version!
no-remote unavailable?
This package is absolutely invaluable for web developers wanting to test against a legacy Firefox. (The Portable OpenOffice has also saved me in this regard.) Thanks guys!
However, with this package the usual methods for running several Firefoxes simultaneously are not working for me: both the "-no-remote" command line parameter and the "MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1" environment variable are ignored.
Can I vote for this functionality to be fixed? A truly portable Firefox should not force session-global registration (however temporary) as the exclusive Firefox other apps see.
Support In Forums
Support requests belong in the forums (not as comments on a news story) so others can find the questions and answers easily. If you check the help.html included and click on advanced options, you'll see that the launcher has an option to accomplish what you want.
