Awesome work, Geoff. It's great to finally see one of the many of the neglected-yet-awesome applications get released here.

This is so cool! I never thought that there was a free 3D modeling software that can actually has these cool features!

It seems that Blender Foundation, although was kind enough to include the manifest etc in 2.49, missed including Microsoft.VC90.CRT.manifest, Microsoft.VC90.OpenMP.manifest, msvcm90.dll and msvcp90.dll in 2.49a.

They are available in my previous 2.49 development release.

I will post an updated development test tomorrow in the old Blender Portable 2.49a Development Test post for people to do a quick check prior to it been updated.

Sorry, was hoping that this was released without any hiccups.

Hi John,

I'm running a 64-bit windows xp over here. It doesn't seem to work for some reason. A dos screen comes up then it shuts down. Thanks

It's not what you know, its what you can prove.

In a command window navigate to where BlenderPortable was extracted and then ot the \App\Blender suddirectory. Run blender.exe and since you're running it from a command window, the window shouldn't shut down and you'll be able to see what the error is. Please post what comes up in the command window for analysis.

PS: If you didn't know, click on the command prompt icon in the upper left and use the Edit -> Mark and Copy options to highlight the text then copy it to the clipboard.

You mean the installer, right? That means you have a corrupted download. That's what happens on x64 Windows with corrupted 32-bit files.
