Tried the little flash version on the site. My first thought was, "Why not just use the flash one everywhere?". I changed my mind. Love the game. Cant wait to download. I'll play the game on the site, to wait for the game to download. (Paradox?)

Edit: Why are the controls switched between the flash and program version? I liked the click jump in the flash one.

I noticed the following on the homepage:

It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format as you can place it on your USB flash drive, iPod or portable hard drive and use it on any computer.

(emphasis mine)

Shouldn't this read "so you can place it on..."?

Mod: feel free to delete/hide once read.

1. Where did this come from? Seems to me most apps get requested; while some don't, nearly all go through the beta testing forum. Never saw this mentioned once until it was released.

2. Is it completely random after the first room? A few more plays tell me it is. Then, is it totally random, or is it always possible?

3. What do you do when you come to a pit followed by a wall? Wall goes all the way up, no way to get up on it that I can see. There is what appears to be a window (white line, like the end of the first area) but when I hit it, I merely slide down.

4. Plus and Minus raise and lower the volume, and NumPad 0 mutes and unmutes. 1 brings up what could be a console (but I can't type anything) that shows the FPS. I'm getting 90. Tab also jumps and that works best for me.

5. What scores are y'all getting? I got 4686 when I overshot a jump (short jump to a short building, followed by a long jump... completely cleared the short building). My tip, focus on the middle of the screen, maybe a bit right of that. Then delay your reaction. Once you get going (e.g. you clear 2000) you should have the hang of it, and your failure thereafter will be stupid and pointless and make you want to break something.

6. Does it just keep going indefinitely?

I had that question too.

Maybe John just liked it and wanted to share it? Smile

It's pseudo-random. Each addition piece is designed to work with your current location and speed as it is generated. So it goes on forever.

Those white lines are windows. You can break through them. It can be difficult to time.

This is an early introduction to flash-based games done as standalone builds (like how you can use flash to build iPhone apps, too). It's a great game and I got in touch with the author about it.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Very interesting. I always wanted to learn Flash since I'm into graphics, and this is more of a reason for me to learn it because I wanted to make simple games as well, but I do not want to learn a real language to make simple games. The fact that you can build iPhone/iPod Touch apps in the upcoming CS5 as well is awesome. Anyways, this is an awesome game. I can't stop playing it. Nice work.

I installed it today and had great fun playing it.

I just wondered where the launcher source went...

Please check it online with either VirusTotal or Jotti. You'll find that it's clean; all our official applications are. Then please report it to them as a false positive.

Bah I hate that. Funny that Microsoft Security Essentials hardly gets false positives and its free software. Actually the app asks to submit files that it doesnt trust for review through the app. I had my Motorola update software trigger that function and I pressed submit so they can clear it. for now I'm happy with that virus scanner Smile Sorry for being off-topic

I still have 4686m. Haven't got it since, either.

I don't doubt that somebody up here has gotten farther. The game is not hard. Still interesting that after two and a half weeks nobody's posted about beating it. I was kinda hoping to get some competition going, albeit competition on the honor system.
