Wow, VideoLAN is really squeezing in lots of stuff…
EQ is back
I previously wrote in the VLC support forum that the EQ was missing from VLC 1.0.3, but it seems to be back in 1.0.5. (Now if only they'd introduce a feature to save your setting!)
If you use VLC on a computer with one tiny little speaker, or even two little ones, follow this quick guide to maximize the sound output. 1. Of the two center bands, slide the one on the right (sixth from the left) up all the way to the top. 2. Now for both of the ones on either side of it, slide them up to just under the top one. Their top should be flush with the bottom of #6. 3. Repeat until all have been done. The leftmost one will be below the rightmost one -- this is normal. 4. Optionally, crank the preamp up as high as it will go. 5. Optionally, crank the volume up as high as it will go. In certain situations the sound will be a little tinny, but you'll hear details you didn't hear before. It will sound decent. Want it to sound better? Invest in good speakers. Can't do that? This is the best you're gonna get, e.g. out of an office Dell.
Archive version
Hi,
Do you have archive of old version of portable apps?
I want to download old version of VLC.
Thanks
Yes
Right here. This is where I had to go to get VLC 1.0.2 when I found that VLC 1.0.3 had somehow lost its equalizer.
