Revision 2: Revision 2 fixes a packaging issue where the 2.6.9 release was included in the 2.6.10 package due to a download issue on GIMP's servers. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Features

GIMP Portable ScreenshotThe GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc. Learn more about the GIMP...

GIMP Portable Background Window 2.1.3 and Photoshop Layout

GIMP Portable Extras ScreenshotTwo extras that enhance GIMP Portable are also available: GIMP Portable Photoshop Layout and GIMP Portable Background Window. The Photoshop Layout add-on adjusts GIMP's dock/toolbox to more closely approximate the layout of Adobe Photoshop. The Background Window plugin allows GIMP to occupy a single window. The background plugin does contain known bugs and is unsupported but should still be useful to many users.

New in This Release

GIMP has been updated to 2.6.10 (release notes). The launcher and installer have also been updated to improve portablity including proper cleanup of additional files and better brush support. Please note that GIMP no longer supports Windows 2000.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

GIMP Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It's packaged in the PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

You mention that GIMP no longer supports Windows 2000, however the FAQ section of their website states:

"Any system capable of running Gnome 2, KDE 3.2, Windows 2000, Mac OS X and later versions should be able to run GIMP."

Is there somewhere else on their site where they specifically mention they no longer support Windows 2000?

That FAQ is outdated. Win2K support was dropped about 4 point versions back or so and they removed it from their list of supported OSes. See: http://www.gimp.org/features/ (though that doesn't list Win7, oddly)

At that time, I checked it myself and it failed to run on Win2K (the standard local version as well as the portable one) with an error indicating that certain kernel functions weren't present, an error typical when an EXE is compiled to expect a certain kernel or better and you're running it on a lesser.

As Windows 2000 is end-of-lifed in 4 days and will receive no further security or bug fixes, I think we'll see more support dropping official support for it (though much software should still run on it).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Thanks for the prompt and informative reply, John!

I guess that answers that once and for all. Sad

Ustedes podrían dar un certificado o al menos partirlo en dos para poder chequear en virustotal, el MD5 Hash no da ok en virustotal. gracias.
