Single-Window Mode
Just click Windows and then Single-Window Mode to try out single-window mode. Of note in this release, saving to JPG, PNG and other common formats is now under the Export menu selection. And, as a development release, the command line window will stay running while the app is running to show any issues that may occur to aid in bug reporting.
Seems to be an error in the updater's .ini file entry for this
If you try to install this through the platform, you get a 404, as it is looking for http://downloads.sourceforge.net/portableapps/GIMPPortable_2.7.3.paf.exe where I believe the file is actually called GIMPPortableTest_2.7.3.paf.exe
Fixed
You're right, it should have been GIMPPortableTest. I've fixed the issue in the database. My apologies for the issue.
Great!
thank you! love GIMP
...Simply lovely , thank you
...Simply lovely, yeah!
Thank you so much for this kind of portable earlier versions that brings to the impatients the oportunity of play with all this new stuff, I just can't wait for a final version including the Single-window Mode!
Thanks for the preview
This is a nice preview of 2.8 to come. It does have some considerable bugs; on my W64 Home Premium, it crashes every time I use the text tool (it's a gdk bug) but that's on GIMP, not the Portable portion.
GIMP has been doing a great job of providing dev tracking info. They post milestones on their website, and they have a graphical tracking tool here:
