On the OpenOfficePortable page it says I was looking at my flash drive and for the properties of my OOP install I see I do have a few extra templates and addons installed into my OOP so that changes my file size some. My question is what is causing the disparity with the size and the size on disk? Is that something to be worried about? TIA!! ( categories: )

Number of Files and Overhead
It's the overhead of the file system. If your file system is setup to have a blocks of 4k and a file is only 1k, it still takes up 4k. Likewise, a 5k file would take up 8k. It's the way file systems work. Multiply that by the number of files (over 3,700 I believe in the case of OOP) and you have quite a difference. I'm planning on working a 'Size on Disk' into the pages, but I need to figure out where to put it and what to base it on (probably a 1GB FAT32 drive).
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
yeah
yeah, that makes sense. I guess I am needing more caffine before I start asking questions. lol
