ClamWin doesn't start

Hi,

I have a slight problem. I have installed on a flash disk the latest version of ClamWin portable and when I try to start the application (no matter if it is through the PortableApps Menu or Explorer) the antivirus shows the splash screen and immediately closes.

I use WinXp SP2, there is already installed the Zone Alarm, but I've tried also after I unistalled Zone Alarm with not results (however, in previous versions the antivirous started no matter if there was any other antivirus installed in the system). The most strange was that there was no record found in Windows' Application Log that could explain why it suddenly shut down. In the local directory of the ClamWin, however, each time the program runs it changes a file "ClamWin.exe.log" and part of its content is as follows:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "ClamWin.py", line 26, in ?
zipimport.ZipImportError: can't decompress data; zlib not available

I have this problem only with ClamWin, I have almost all portable applications in the same location and I open them either using PortableApps menu or explorer, and work perfectly.

I have also read the post entitled "ClamWin won't start - filename CASE problem (solution)" but I do not use Win9x any more. I uses either WinXP and Vista. More over this happened also immediately after installing the latest version and I run it always only from the flash drive.

What should I do to fix it?

Thanks in advance,

Iosif

2 things

come into my mind:
I guess you tried reinstalling it and made sure that the archive has the correct md5 sum?
Did you check your drive for filesystem errors?

Thanks ...

The drive for sure doesn't have filesystem errors for I check it regularly. I, also, checked the md5 sum and it's ok too. However, I preferred to uninstall it completely, instead of updating I previously did, and after that it worked.

Thanks
