SumatraPDFPortable.ini Not Being ReadPatrick Patience (Homepage)

Alright, so I spent like 5 minutes trying to figure out what I was doing wrong in passing the command line parameter to change the background colour for SumatraPDF Portable through the AppNamePortable.ini file. Then I decided to try to disable the splash, which didn't work either. I didn't check the source much yet, but I'm thinking that it's not reading the INI file properly, or not properly reading all the variables and applying them. Thought I'd point that out. Some confirmation from others would be good, too. ( categories: )

Youre right
If you want confirmation why don't you search? There was a bunch of others having the same problem. And that post is only a year old so it cant already be outdated
And I think we definitively need an "ini checker" in our Beta Team n'est-ce-pas?

Lol
Didn't think about searching. I new it had been mentioned a couple times before, but I didn't know for this app. Anywho, now's a valid time to re-mention since SumatraPDF now has more command line params.
Yea, INI checked sounds good.
Bad Example INI
It's just a bad example INI. The example INI should read as:
If the SettingsDirectory isn't there (as it isn't in the example), the launcher assumes it's a bad INI and uses defaults.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
cool
Now it works. Some mod might want to sticky this cause the question came a couple tmes.

Why not update a new version?
Hey...
I have a lot of other portable apps from in here.
Like many others I don't like splash screens.
With the other apps I could easily disapple it, by doing the .ini file true trick.
But with this Sumatra app, I couldn't.
So I was all ready to post a question on the board concerning this problem.
Because, though you Simeon, says in your first post that one could just search in the search bar, and find the answer, this is not true:
These screendumps shows that you get nothing out of the search function:
1. http://tinyurl.com/22zdmu
2. http://tinyurl.com/23wrcb
So I was ready to post a new question and even did this screendump to have as a prove: http://tinyurl.com/24lnhk
But because I was not in a hurry I checked if I could find something in the forum about it and I did... I found this tread with leads to this thread: http://portableapps.com/node/5934?destination=node%2F5934 <-- which guided me to the solution.
I think that this should be done:
1. John uploaded a new version with the bug fixed (saying this I know that it is a beta, but still, it is in the application menu) (and please forgive me if this have been done, but I have downloaded the file within the last 3 days, so...)
2. Improve the search bar function so it works properly
3. Make a note on the application site, about this bug if, you decide not to upload a fixed version.
4. Make a link to the forum Sumatra support site on the application site.
5. Making this tread a sticky I also think is a good idea
\was my 50 Cent's. Hope you don't consider it negative. Did this post in a good meaning and I think I'm very constructive.
