Relocating Toucan Sync Settings filesshaynedoyle - February 27, 2008 - 8:43pm
Toucan seems to default to saving any Sync Settings parameter sets in the host computer's "My Documents" folder. When saving a Synch Setting, no option is given to specify a different location. I want to save the Sync Setting sets onto the flashdrive in my \Program Files\Toucan directory - how can I do this ? ( categories: )

Settings
are all stored in Toucan\Data is there any reason why you want them in a different location.
'...and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard...' JFK
Aha! Found them
Aha, found them by opening that "Jobs.ini" file. I had been looking for individual files with the same name as the Backup/Synch parameter set, pretty much like FileSync uses. I want to delete one of the parameter sets, but cannot find a way to delete them from the Toucan interface.
Settings reloaded
One of the disadvantages of Toucan is the disability to cancel one or more of the settings of the jobs.ini file from the GUI. Another one is the fact that it can't load the settings correctly after an update (1.1 to 1.2.1. Encrypted data can't be decrypted by the old jobs.ini! After renaming it and generating a new one, is it working again, that's not very reliable. A change in the installer could solve this bug.
