Outdated

I just downloaded the portable version of ClamWin. When updating the definitions it says the app is out of date. On the FAQ page of the portable version it says to update the app all I need to do is download it again to my USB drive but the download I have there now is barely 24 hours old. Does the portable ClamWin have a different version number that makes the downloader think it's outdated or is the PortableApps version on the Source Forge site actually outdated? If so where do I get a recent portable version?

Been checking. The download says it's version .92 but when I run it and check the version in Help/About it says it's version .88 as does the updater. So which version do I have?

downloaded it and it says 0.92 in the help/About and the updater works fine. I suggest you try a clean install.

you´re outdated, You should have version 0.92.1, but when You look at the download section on clamwin, they still have 0.92.0. Looking into FAQ they say that a new version might come up, but isn´t released for general use. Somehow strange attitude telling someone the scanning machine being outdated before a more recent one has been released...

The 0.92.1 issue is because ClamAV has updated to 0.92.1, but ClamWin is still on 0.92

The virus database and update engine are all from ClamAV, so they are seeing that there is a new version of the core engine around, but until ClamWin gets a new (official) version out, there is nothing for John to portableise.

When you say "Clamwin updater" are you referring to some external program?

When I run ClamWin Portable, choose "Help | Check Latest Version" it says that I am up to date.

Did the ClamWin folks change their web site overnight to correct the problem you were seeing?

I use with automemscan; sorry, I wasn´t precise enough I see.. When I open the updater window from the tray it says 0.92 is outdated, don´t panic etc... http://portableapps.com/node/11553#comment-67870 , virus definitions are updated as with clamwin itself.

Hi All,
I had the same thing and wondered what was happening. It turned out that the Clam that is included in the 'suite' is the older version and although i had downloaded the newer version, I had not updated it!

released a beta of 0.93 portable so if everything goes right, the main release will hit the streets in a couple days.
