Google Pinyin for Chinese Input

Google Pinyin Chinese Input proves to be very handful and small to handle, not taking up a lot of resources, rams, memories. Unfortunately, not all computers have that installed. Therefore, if it can be converted or developed for portable devices, it would be great. I know it takes a lot of time and energy to do this kind of work, but thanks and thanks very much.

Appreciate your open source/freeware contribution.

Keep it up, guys.

The world without you is worse.

Same for me

I work for "The Beast from Redmond" and im not allowed to install non-MS apps (PC gets checked regularly), it's considered a 'security breach'... But MS just doesnt create exactly the best software in many fields, so I use a lot of portableware n i would very much like it if someone could make G-pinyin or Sogou-pinyin portable...

Cheers,

Poo

What does it do? If you post

What does it do? If you post some info about the app you'll get a quicker and more receptive response.

Type chinese characters using a latin keyboard

With the mentioned IME's one can 'type' chinese using a latin keyboard.

Chinese script uses different characters than latin based languages. By typing a short latin 'syllable' representing the sound of a chinese character (pinyin), this software helps creating chinese text.

hmmm

I don't think it is open source though..... So we can't make it... Plus it is in a language which probably 99% of the devs here don't know......

Questionable

It would seem that it is no open source. And Google China essentially ripped off a dictionary from a competitor to put it together. So it's of questionable legality in and of itself. Add to that the fact that it runs as a Windows service so you could only use it on machines with admin rights and I'd say this is not a good candidate for a portable app.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

well, there are many Chinese

well, there are many Chinese input method rather than Google Pinyin, I guess there would be some are open sourced. And I don't think they would keep it very "closed" as there are not many creative things behind these input "softwares".

Basically, when u type "wo" it will give you a pop-up list of Chinese characters sounds "wo" to be chose from.

Actually, not just for Chinese, Japanese and many Asian languages are not Latin based. It is cool that we have multi languages for the PortableApps Platform, if we can have customized input method, that will be super great!
