The mysterious "User 1"

So here I am surfing the portableapps forums, and lo and behold I end up on John's user page. We all know who has the most seniority here, and John's been a forum member for 2 years, 17 weeks, as of today.
But look up in the address bar and, strangely, it says user/2. Hmmmm... I replace "2" with "1", and here I have User 1: administrator!!!! I wonder who that could be...
Ha Ha, joke's over. I think we all know who it is, but how about this:

The user page for "administrator" says this:
Member for
38 years 13 weeks

That's since 1970!!!!!!!! OMG! Something seems a little odd there!
Here, look at it, I'm not kidding:
administrator

Yeah, there's nothing strange about the account itself being there, but the date seems to be a little messed up. What do you think of this? Maybe John can explain it.
