unable to install codecs.

So, i have VLC Portable and i'm having problems playing a video that has a new codec. i need the H264 codec. However, when i tried to install it on my flash drive...nothing happened. The video still couldn't be understood by VLC. what's going on? how can i get the codec to install on my flashdrive so VLC can understand it?

that doesn't make sense. The website that i got the video from stated that i could install the codec with VLC and use VLC to watch the video.

Doesnt the current vlc include a h264 codec?
