Allway Sync 'n' Go PAF

Submitted by mojo4616 on April 29, 2008 - 5:21pm

I've downloaded Allway Sync 'n' Go in Portable Application Format (for USB sticks). I've installed it on my computer's harddisk. After a while I moved the application's files to another location on my harddisk. Next time I tried to start the application, it didn't! An error message appeared, stating that the file '03.ini' could not be found. I can start the application with the 'syncappw.exe' file that's in the 'Bin' folder of the application. Can anyone tell me what's happening and what the difference is between the files 'AllwaySync'n'Go.exe' and 'syncappw.exe'?

Thanks in advance!

You'll have to ask them.

I found some lovely small print

One license allows you to install Allway Sync on a single computer (or on a removable device for 'n' Go). Your license can be transferred if you change your PC (or the removable device correspondingly). This is a one-time fee, not a recurring charge. Lifetime upgrades, patches and premium technical support are included.
Customer agrees that Allway Sync Free has certain limitations and that these limitations may change over time without notice or obligation on the part of Developer. Currently, these limitations allow Customer to synchronize no more than 20,000 files per 30-day period.
Customer who acquires a license for Pro version of Allway Sync 'n' Go is granted a nonexclusive license to install this software on a single removable device only and run it from the removable device on multiple computers.

So, it appears that you are SOL (Sorely Outta Luck). Email the company and ask them. Alternately, try Toucan

Good gracious! There goes a kangaroo. I must have a practice with me boomerang- Now then, slowly back
If you throw that thing at me, I'll jump right on your head.
Innit marvellous? Got a land full of kangaroos and I had to pick that one.

Hi Oliver, Thanks for your

Hi Oliver,

Thanks for your reply! I've only installed allway sync on one computer and I do certainly not synchronize more than 20,000 file a month. So certain limitations probably includes 'If you're lucky, you will not be able to use it'.

I've already tried Toucan but that didn't work for me (I've posted a comment on the 'Toucan' forum last week). Steve will have a look into it.

I hope I will get lucky in the near future so that I can sync my files...
