Favorites, Bookmarks and SettingsSubmitted by Lelouch on May 5, 2008 - 11:54am
Hi everyone, I just wonder where does FireFox-Portable save user's settings, bookmarks and favorites so I can trasnfer (any) of them to another portable one, or keep them when replacing the current version with a newer one! Thanks, ( categories: )

Replacing current version with a new one: Simple! Just install the new one to the same location! All apps here support in-place upgrades.
Transferring settings: Go into the folder where Firefox Portable is installed (if you're using the PortableApps.com Menu, it'll probably be in PortableApps\FirefoxPortable). Then just copy the entire Data folder to the other install.

Technically
to answer his question he would only need:
\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile
but getting all of \Data is a good idea if you also wanted your Plug-Ins ;-)

Better just to take the whole Data folder
Because who knows, maybe a future FF version will add other types of user data that will require a new subfolder in Data!
Plus the "copy the Data folder" advice can be extended to other PortableApps. Data\profile is specific to the Mozilla apps. ;)
