Office links to many parts
Office links to many parts of the OS, for example Outlook needs IE etc. Maybe it could be made portable but Microsoft would not like that.
It's beyond the scope of this site to support any Microsoft applications as portable.

OpenOffice is almost EXACTLY like Microsoft office. Plus, if you really want Microsoft office, a friend of mine made it portable by changing some options in Word to put the settings on the flashdrive.

Changing options in Word will not affect the rest of MS office, and none of the registry settings will be stored on the flash drive, only directory settings can be changed.

The only reason i can think of to use Microsoft Office over OpenOffice is the fact that OpenOffice 2.X can't read/write OpenXML files (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx, etc). Luckily OpenOffice 3, now in beta, can read/write the new file types; it will be released in September of this year.

MS 2003 read .docx, etc. :) They had to release a separate update.
