The site is back up after the Drupal 6 upgrade, but it will be slow while the cache and search indexes are rebuilt. The forums, in particular, will be quite slow. A couple things are disabled (forum stats, for instance) and a couple things will look visually odd for a bit (recent posts, table headers, page links), but these things should be resolved later today.
Sadly, Views seems unable to filter out an individual forum in its current form due to a bug so we're stuck seeing Off-Topic posts in the tracker. If folks who like to chat in there could please ease up on it until we get this resolved, it will be much appreciated.
Smileys may be out for a while... turns out that module hasn't been updated. And MarkAsRead only works on the main Forum page... not in the tracker (our tracker is a view, maybe that's it).
Please make a post about anything else.

- Recent Posts Tracker: "Last Poster" displays the last person to post by the order of the posts displayed on the post page instead of the last person to post by time. This is due to a bug in the Drupal Views module.

Just wanted to say thank you. I will be looking forward to the changes. Also eager for the release of the new Platform, future PortableApps and other such upgrades with will be coming. Keep the work up! Many of us are more thankful than you may realize.

Yes, but
They are. That's one of the reasons we wanted to upgrade. Real forum moderators (including forum posts), polls, wikis, better performance and more. But we won't be touching that until the site is at least back to the level it was at on Drupal 5.7. This is by far the worst Drupal upgrade we've undergone and it may take a few days to sort things out. I spent all of today manually checking over primary keys and indexes in the database to add the ones in that didn't work right and remove the outdated ones... and there were several. This after spending 5 hours just getting the site back online last night. At least we didn't lose any data and the site is online.

The new Drupal uses the old path for reserved JS caching, so it deleted the file. I've added it in a new location. If you're logged in, it works now. If not, wait 15 mins.

I think that you missed some of my content at http://chrismorgan.info/development/drupal/modules/markasread/6. To get the tracker buttons, you need the following two files in the active theme directory (sites/all/themes/portableapps2). Then it should work properly.If you use views for your tracker, could you please post the conditions, etc. so that I can see if I can add it some other way. In the meantime, while you're using a block, you should be using the PHP code instead of the HTML code -

It is messed up because its a Forum page Marko (or John) "upgraded" to be a book page. So the 2 Layouts kinda collide. But it should definitely integrate better and have a link to it on the main page.

Job #1 is: Get the site working back to the way it was.
At some point in the future we will investigate OpenID support. But we'll probably do what SF did and only support certain major providers to prevent abuse... otherwise we'll probably get spammed to death.
We'll focus on getting everything to 100% and then getting the important stuff implemented (real forum moderators, improved performance, wikis, polls, etc) before we look at stuff like OpenID which isn't that important right now (not many people use it or know what it is yet).

SourceForge accepts any provider. I know because I host my own OpenID provider and it works for me.
If you're only going to allow major providers, don't bother. OpenID was designed to be a decentralised platform. Making it anything other than this is completely pointless and goes against everything OpenID stands for.
Also, OpenID is no defence against spam and it shouldn't be. It was never designed to be a defence against spam.

I've noticed an improvement with the forms using several different pc's (work and home) in the past day or so.

Graphical smileys are different wherever you go and sometimes look nothing like what you were trying to convey with the text smiley you typed in. Text is text wherever you go, I much prefer it.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this, but it's tripped me out a few times personally. I think before it just had the site name, but now when adding a comment on a post, or replying to a comment, it says Reply to comment | PortableApps.com - Po... I personally find it confusing and think maybe I hit reply on a comment instead of Add new comment. Maybe if it's not to hard it could be changed to something like Reply or even Comment? But Reply TO comment is confusing personally.

Everything looks normal (= the way it was) now. One minor thing is that on the tracker page, the forums aren't clickable. I think they were before and I think its convenient because you can jump to a specific forum very fast.
And the button still says "Save" but actually I like it better than "Reply".

The Views module has a bug in linking the forum names. It links to the taxonomy term rather than the forum and you end up lost in a non-existent area of the site.

Title update
I just updated the german Firefox RC1 page and in the left navigation it still shows the title of the old page (3 Beta 5). It used to update the link if I changed the title but it doesn't anymore.

em (italics) tags
Something's up with the em tags. They're not carrying through in the beta testing posts (for example) to the closing tag, only active for one paragraph.
auto-closed
Drupal 6 auto-closes unclosed tags now. And leaving an EM tag open between paragraphs is invalid HTML... so it closes them for you.

Moderators
The new moderator styling in the forums looks better to me. Also, may have always been like this, but the development header on the main forum page is slightly taller than the others.
Edit: Also, I believe Marko's noted before that he'd like his username changed which might be ideal now as you have his name listed on the forum page for moderators. He needs this account with his name deleted as he created it a couple months ago when he had an error with his other account or something.
