I am looking for a media browser to run on a large portable drive on which I plan to store all my photos and home movies.
Requirements:
portable
pic and vid support
category/label/tag support
picasa does photo and video, supports labels, but is not portable.
fsviewer is portable, supports tags, but only does photos
Irfan Thumbnail is portable, does photo and video, but does not support tags
Photomesa supports categories, but only does photo and requires .net
Does anyone know of an app that does it all?

I think if someone was able to create this and add music this would probably overtake all the payware options I'm aware of. A single media library and catalogue where you can add tages would be awesome.

I think this would do it all. It's OSS. Don't know much else about it though, I'm going to take a closer look, and then I might make a portable version.
I've found what seems to be a good implementation of tagging. Tag2Find is not a portable solution, but it is going open source so who knows what it might lead to.
