FreeType conflct
That usually indicates a FreeType conflict... meaning that there's a rogue copy of FreeType somewhere on your system. You could try hunting it down or, if you're comfortable w/o freetype, just delete the DLL (I think... anyone?).

Freetype6 error it's also my problem..
I also get this problem when starting GIMP (newest version download from here) at Freetype6.dll.
I try deleting it, but it makes GIMP not work (could not find freetype6.dll)
I open Window Search file, and only find this .dll in GTK directory.
So.. how to fix it? This is the first time I download GIMP (but can't lauch)
or wait for a new version? or file 7zip is corrupted?

Try local GIMP?
Have you tried installing GIMP locally? It could just be that GIMP won't work on that box. And if local GIMP doesn't... Portable GIMP won't either.
