if we update ...
do we still need to download the codecs plugin?
Don't be an uberPr∅. They are stinky.
Few Things
First, please leave the default theme. The only app we've ever replaced the default theme on is CoolPlayer+ and we did that because the default theme is pretty bad and affected usability of the product... and we appropriately renamed the app to CoolPlayer+ to differentiate this. No such change is required with SMPlayer as the default theme is quite good. If you wish to include a PortableApps.com theme, it should be optional.
Second, don't make a portable codecs pack. We won't be hosting it for download. Some of the things within it are of questionable legality in terms of distribution. And it's all closed source. The standard plugins pack from the SMPlayer site can be used with the portable version.
Third, don't use the multi-installer for themes. It should be used sparingly as we'll be changing the way it works at some point. Themes should be handled as they are with the regular app (individually and users are free to add them if they want). Most users don't care about themes and will leave it as the default so you're just adding size. Only include the themes that are included with a local install and, if necessary, a PortableApps.com custom theme.
Live with purpose.
Okay.

This is really weird.
I found that it creates a file settings instead of a folder...
At this point, I don't know why this is happening.

Looks like a nice project, seems to be a good alternative to VLC, which is already an awesome piece of code.
Updated
this version should fix the bug where the settings subfolder isn't being created. (It turns out the SettingDirectory label area was deleted).

Progress?
Is this app still being worked on, or is MPlayer Portable deterring development.
By the way, the SMPlayer developers have made their own portable version of the 0.6.2 release.
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/smplayer/smplayer-portable_0.6.2.7z
I downloaded their portable version and replaced the files with the PortableApps version and everything seems to work fine.
I didn't check to see if it was writing files to the local drive or not.
Slump
for one thing, I can't play DVD's.
Another is the screenshots are disabled.
And I have 5x homework now that I have 5 teachers.
And my parents banned me from IRC.
Anyone can take over SMPlayer until I get some more time.
