I've just tried it with vista ultimate sp1, and it works well and it doesn't leave anything obvious behind

it is a shame the application itself isn't being developed anymore...it's a neat program

Do you want the portable version developed or the app itself? Since the app itself hasn't been updated since Sep 2007, I'd call it "dead" for now. Since the portable version is using the latest version of the app, there isn't really anything to "develop"...unless you mean you want to see the portable version updated to the latest "portable apps technology" (latest NSIS scripts).
