Portable Suite on a DVD-RW?

OK, I got this DVD-RW Disk in front of me, I popped it in, to install PortableApps Suite to it.

But, Windows wants me to chose "Live FIle System" or "Mastered" to "format" it I guess.

This disk "may" need to be used on/with Macintosh/95/98 machines, so "Live File System" doesn't seem to work there, so I'm thinking "Mastered" - but, from what Im reading, it sounds like using Mastered will not allow me to "re-write" the files.....even though it is a re-writable media?

Need some help here Wink I've had these DVD-RWs for a while now, figure I may as well put 'em to use but kinda confused by this jargon.

Using "Mastered" on this DVD-RW won't "close" the disk, therefore restricting further data to be added to it would it?

Well...

I have heard of this filesystem somewhere before. But let me try to explain both:

The Live File System makes the DVD-RW act like an remobable media, it allows you to read and write whenever you want, without being needed to open a record program, so it is like if it would be working with a pendirve or remobable hard disk on Windows XP/Vista.
But on Windows 2000/NT4/NT3.5/ME/98/95 you wont be able to use the disk Sad

The Mastered file system is the usual CD/DVD file system, it works on any Windows, and you can read from it and write, erase and rewrite.
The problem is that you can't write when you want, you can only write all things at once, so it may be harder to run PortableApps from there. But don't worry that it won't close the DVD-RW unless you want to.

Hope to have helped!

are you sure Live File System

are you sure Live File System works on XP?

But there’s no sense crying over every mistake,
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Heard in a magazine

I've heard on some random magazine an article about Vista's DVD burner, and about that thing of the Live File System. It said that it worked on XP, but I am not sure.
