Can't get Portable Abiword to work after installing WordPerfect Import plug-inSubmitted by HeyRanger on April 21, 2006 - 2:36am
When I try to open the program after installing the plugin, I get an error msg saying that "AbiWord.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." I followed plugin installation instructions at http://portableapps.com/support/portable_abiword#plugins. Without plugin, Abiword works fine. I'm running it on a Memorex 512 U3 USB drive. I'm new to this scene so I apologize for my ignorance on how to fix this. Any help is greatly appreciated. Please advise if more info is needed to provide diagnosis. Thanks! »

This is a bug in AbiWord: http://bugzilla.abisource.com/show_bug.cgi?id=7057. I'm pretty sure the crash will go away if you install the OpenWriter or OpenDocument plug-in alongside the WordPerfect one.
