Thanks for the update!

Well, some things:

  • Your Download link says: 0.9.2 Dev Test 4
  • MoneyManagerEXPortable.ini:
    MoneyManagerEXDirectory=App\MoneyManagerEX
    SettingsDirectory=Data\settings
    MoneyManagerEXExecutable=MoneyManagerEX.exe
    lines are missing
  • Readme.txt: The last line is about Thunderbird Portable. Furthermore there is a description for the "SkipBackups entry" ???
  • Legal Copyright: John T. Haller instead of PortableApps.com & Contributors

Thanks for catching those.

Wondering when will this be updated to pre-release? Also has been updated to Version 0.9.4.0 (Stable) and Version 0.9.4.1. Hope to see this on the aps page soon Smiling

EDIT: Zach? Again checking if this is still being developed. If not is it possible to import data from money manager into GNU Cash? Sad

0.9.4.2 is the latest

If not is it possible to import data from money manager into GNU Cash? Sad
I guess no, because GNU Cash is more complex (double-entry accounting, small-business accounting, ...)

If Zach wants to drop this is

If Zach wants to drop this is there anyonee willing to pick it up? There are a arge number of people unable to pick up GNU Cash's complexity's yet who want to still track their finances. Money Manager EX hit the spot Smiling

Agreed - I had to learn a new

Agreed - I had to learn a new accounting system just to use GNU Cash, which is fine for its target audience, but this is definitely more my speed.

Just a note

Letting Zach and the other devs know that there is still definite interest in MMEX Portable. Hope someone has the time to pick this up and the release team figures it would be good to offer a lightweight alternative to GNUCash for the non accountants here Laughing out loud

Thanks

News

Hi, have you read the latest MMEX news:

#MMEX will be available soon as an application that runs on your desktop but via the browser. This means you can run MMEX on one machine, but can potentially access it from anywhere, from your local intranet or from the internet or even from a mobile phone. And since the application and data is fully under your control, you don't need to worry about the privacy of your personal financial data.

Kinda strange Sad

Is kinda strange

But they do imply they'll be maintaining the desktop app

Will this new app be compatible with MMEX?

Yes, it will maintain 100% compatibility with MMEX Databases you have. And that means you can open it in Tonido MMEX, edit it, switch to the desktop app if you want.

If Zach Hudock was ok with it would you be interested?
