pls disable Thunderbird Portable auto-update or adviseSubmitted by jobcello on October 11, 2008 - 6:10pm
Is there any way to disable Thunderbird Portable auto-update from mozilla update servers? I had just finished installing TBP 2.0.0.16 when I start getting these popups to update to TB 2.0.0.17. I didn't update because of the problems that would cause, I just waited until TBP got updated, but I think this will cause some confusion for a lot of users. If they click 'yes', they will run into problems. Here's a related post from someone else: ( categories: )

Hi
and welcome to PortableApps.com :)
There is a way to disable it.
Go to Tools-settings-Advanced-Update and uncheck the checkboxes there.
And yes this is an unsolved problem, as the only safe way at the moment is to wait for the new versioon to be released by this site.

In order to distribute
In order to distribute Mozilla Thunderbird and Mozilla Firefox, the packaged version must retain the original configurations or else they will have to use another name (ie: Iceweasel), as this is the requirement to publish the application under these names.
I know it sucks, but it's better than not publishing the applications at all.
