1) To bring your settings from your portable version of pidgin to your local version, you need to copy the FILES that are in \PortableApps\PidginPortable\Data\Settings\.purple\ (You do NOT want to copy the folders). If you keep logs in pidgin, you can move those also, but the way windows copies files, it will overwrite the existing folders that are in there.
2) You can look here for your answers: http://portableapps.com/support/pidgin_portable#language

The exact opposite way.
Just find that folder on the PC. If it's a windows box, its under C:\Documents and Settings\\ApplicationData\ (there is a folder here called .purple). All of the information is in there. You will need to have Hidden files and folders shown to see the ApplicationData folder.
When you find the .purple folder, just copy everything IN the folder to the .purple folder in your \PortableApps\PidginPortable\Data\Settings directly.
Let me know if you need more help.
It doesn't work
hi, i have installed pidgin in my windows pc. Now i've installed the portable version on my USB pendrive, and i want to conserve all data and configuration, all the accounts, plugins, friends lists, and so on.
How can i do it?
be carefull with the versions
I've done it (copy the .purple directory):
Copy from "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrador\Program settings" to "[...]PortableApps\PidginPortable\Data\settings".
I've copyed the plugins directory too:
from "C:\Program files\Pidgin\plugins" to "PidginPortable\App\Pidgin\plugins"
My problem was that the versions weren't the same:
Installed version 2.4.3
Portable version 2.5.4
Just upgrade the installed version, that keep all stuf in rigght manner and then copy the directories again... And: EUREKA!
