Ease of Use vs Customizability
Pidgin is easy to use, has a very familiar interface, has dozens of languages included and works out of the box with all the major networks.
Miranda is more for the geek. Very customizable. English only out of the box. You need to add plugins/extensions for most features. But it's difficult for average users to use.
Personally, I use Pidgin.
And we recommend it for most users, which is why it's in the Suite.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
