Set menu icon for custom app

OK, So I recently got the portable apps menu and I love it. I also love how it recognizes other applications that are put into the PortableApps folder, even if they're not 'official' portable apps.
I did that with several of my stand alone programs, and now I want to use a more complex launcher.
I have the program's exe file and it does everything that it is supposed to, I don't need help with that.
I am trying to get a custom PortableApps menu icon and name to show up, but that won't happen.

here's the directory structure:

-Program
program.exe (the file that I want to run)
    -App
     various files used by program
        -AppInfo
         appinfo.ini
         appicon.ico
    -Data
     other files used by program

I have added entries into appinfo.ini, and added appicon.ico, but they don't seem to affect how my program shows up in the menu.
Am I doing something wrong?

I'm not going to distribute this, so I don't want to make an installer and I'm not worried about all of the exact PortableApps protocol. I just want to change the icon and description that shows up in the menu.

I hope all of that makes sense.

Please wait a bit

The appicon.ico and appinfo.ini files are in place for the next version of the PortableApps.com Menu. An early version of it will be out this week.
The current version extracts the icons and names from the executables so you'd have to change them to change the icons.

Oh and welcom here Smile
