Disable Splash ScreenSubmitted by cappsie on January 14, 2009 - 5:15am
Hey All I believe this is my first post! yay I've disabled my splash screens on PuTTy and FireFox and now I'm after disabling Pidgin's... Ideas? I have had a fairly thorough read through the forum and cannot see if anyone has done this so far. Let me know Thanks! Adam ( categories: )

Update!
Interesting - I decided to "have a play" and added a PidginPortable.ini file to my \PortableApps\PidginPortable directory - including the following two lines:
[PidginPortable]
DisableSplashScreen=true
I'm pleased to say it worked!
However, I feel I might be missing a few parameters, can anyone provide the extra options?
Thanks
Adam

sure
just take the complete file from PortableApps/PidginPortable/Other/Source/ and use this one. Thats the one people are meant to use.
All Apps here have that file and you can tweak around with it a bit.

Cool stuff but...
what are the options for this line:
AdditionalParameters=
And what does this line do:
WaitForPidgin=false

All entrys are explained
in the Readme.txt.
The first one lets you specify additional parameters that the launcher passes to the actual Application. Its mostly for advanced users. I never use it with any App...
The WaitForPidgin entry allows you to set the Pidgin Portable Launcher to wait for Pidgin to
close before it closes. This option is mainly of use when PidginPortable.exe is called by
another program that awaits it's conclusion to perform a task.
