Running openoffice from CD-R

I thought that openoffice would run from a CD-R (saving files to a pc harddrive).

I have just read a post that says that openoffice will not run from a CD.

Can someone clarify the position.

Ps. Os is windows Vista Home Premium, 32 bit

If you go to the page for OpenOffice Portable, there is a link with instructions on how to run from CD-R.
Give it a try, and see what happens!
