Sync "update" mode problem

Submitted by J Neutron on March 8, 2009 - 7:03pm

Setup: Toucan Version 2.07 installed on C: drive, trying to sync a directory from C: to a USB external hard drive K:

In Sync, for Copy and Mirror (Copy) it shows preview correctly. For Update or Mirror (Update) it immediately put up an error box that says:

An unhandled exception occured. Press "Abort" to terminate the program, "Retry" to exit the program normally and "Ignore" to try to continue.

Abort and Retry immediately close Toucan, Ignore stays in Toucan but the right hand window loses the ability to open subdirectories to show files.

Jim

Edit: Just tried it with 2.06 and it works OK. After pressing the preview button, the right window window flashes blank and then refills with all the filenames in proper "action" colors.

same problem but no 2.06 to downgrade to!

2.07, installed on C drive, just pops up the dialogue box as above when I try to update and external USB disk. Any ideas why?

Preview issues

I too, have problems with my 'preview' function in the Sync area. I am using Tucan 2.07.

When I attempt to preview a job when only the 'update' is checked, the system locks up. Were this only one machine, I might suspect the computer, but it happens on my Toshiba Laptop at home with Vista, and at work on an HP with Windows XP Professional (Single User) V5.01 Build 2600 Service Pack 2.

If I do not use the preview option, the Sync performs flawlessly.

I love the program though, but I use it mostly for Syncronization. Thanks for all the work you guys do.

Same Here

I as well am having the same problem. I am running sync now with no seen problems. But the preview fails every time.

This

will be fixed in the next version, although it doesnt crash for me (typically), but the whole sync preview system is being rewritten at the moment.

A few issues, true...

...but Steve, I really enjoy this program and use it a lot!

Thanks,
