Swedish characters ÅÄÖ disappearing

mr_bruce - March 11, 2009 - 4:30am

Hi,

After installing Thunderbird Portable I started loosing the swedish characters ÅÄÖ in the subject line of incoming emails.

I´ve also had recipients of my emails complaining that ÅÄÖ is replaced with weird statements like Å becomes "å".

Any idea what this might be?

In settings the character encodings are set to Western (8859-1). I think it is the same as when I had the regular Thunderbird. It might have been "Western Europe" but I cannot find this setting here.

ISO 8859-1 should be right I think.

Does anyone else have the "Western Europe" character set?

I used to have it in my Thunderbird that wasn´t portable, but in the portable it is not there, just the "Western" one. Thinking that maybe this is why my ÅÄÖ gets scrambled.
