Portable Operating Systems

daniel14linux - April 19, 2009 - 9:06am

I have noticed that the Linux section has displayed 'coming soon' for quite some time.

Some links that should be put there:

http://portableubuntu.sourceforge.net/
http://www.pendrivelinux.com/

There are many more versions of Linux made portable, both native and within Windows, which should be included as links.

Thank you.

most of us know

those links well. Unfortunately those developments are still kind of half portable and of limited practical use.

There is a launcher for multiple linux distros under quemu in forums and the portable ubuntu ist more of proof of concept stadium rather then anything what could be used for some serious work.
Yes the portable ubuntu is impressive, , much faster then the quemu way, but much more complex to config in fact. It uses special kernel, so many things do not work as one would expect them under ubuntu.
