Recommend me an RSS reader?

Submitted by getco on May 16, 2009 - 11:10am

Hey!

I'm in desperate need of a nice full-featured RSS reader.

I used to work with FeedDeamon but it's just too damn slow and bloated.

Then I switched to Sage but it's just WAY TOO simplistic - it lacks basic features like deleting old posts, etc.

I need something portable and not too bloated. I loved FD's features, but common people it's TOOO slow.

Open Source...., the choice of a GNU generation.

I'll try it out. Thanks!

No, I want something on my PC. I just prefer it that way... never been a fan of web-based apps, dunno why.

I've tried Sage, Sage-Too and Brief (addons for Firefox). Unfortunately the first too are way too simple and Brief is way too bloated.

So I'll see that "RSSOwl" one. Hope it works!

I see the release has been from May 15 - so maybe that's a sign of some kind (eg. it's just in time for me Smiling
