Install and run portable Firefox alongside with regular Firefoxcaliwildman - June 15, 2009 - 12:14pm
I am currently experiencing some crash problem with Firebug extension on Firefox, so I want to see if I can install and run portable Firefox on the same system with only the Firebug extension. I wish to have both the regular Firefox and portable Firefox running at the same time, is this possible? Thanks. ( categories: )

yes, that is possible.
you simply need to make sure both versions don't have any settings that force only one instance of firefox running...if neither have that...they will both work side by side just fine.

Well...
Firefox is meant to have only one instance running at a time.
But you can use the ini in /Other/Source/ to configure it to allow 2 instance4s but then some files will be left on the PC you use it on.

Make sure FF is not running
Make sure FF is not running first.
Copy FirefoxPortable.ini from \Other\Sources into the main PFF folder (aka the one with FirefoxPortable.exe in it)
Edit FirefoxPortable.ini and set AllowMultipleInstances=true
