Portable FF running on internal hard drive

Blueandwhitearmy - June 17, 2009 - 2:39pm

Hello everybody.

Apologies in advance for a rather basic query.

My Grandparents have been having a few problems with IE on their Desktop PC. I was planning to download portable firefox so they can see whether they get on with FF any better before eventually doing a “proper” install of the program. I wasn’t going to use the launcher, just run portable FF off the internal hard drive of the PC with a shortcut on the desktop. I just wanted to double check that using portable Firefox this way over an extended period of time was ok and wouldn’t cause any problems? Thanks

if you install FF on a HD (and I have including a number of other portable programs), you should use the FF portable launcher and, yes you can make a shortcut for the desktop.

Yes, you can run it from the hard drive with just a shortcut to FirefoxPortable.exe. It won't affect your system.
