GnuCash Problemgm319 - August 21, 2009 - 8:50am
I installed GnuCash Portable about 2 days ago on my USB drive. The first time I opened the program it was fine. Now, when I try to open it the first screen flashes on for about 2 seconds, disappears and then the program does not open. Can anyone help? (windows xp) ( categories: )

GnuCash won't start
I click on the menu shortcut and nothing happens. Then, if I click on the on the launcher directly from "X:/PortableApps/GnucashPortable" it will show the splash screen for a few seconds but it won't start. I looked at the appinfo.ini and looks good. Installation went well and no file seems to be missing. Running from a western Digital USB HD on a Vista Home Premium SP2, AMD 64 X2. No other PA running at that time, reinstalled 3 times and nothing. All other PA's work great. By the way, thanks John and the great team of PortableApps.com, your work change lives!!!
You might try
right clicking the launch icon and choosing 'start as administrator'. That seems to work for me when a few of my apps hang after the splash screen.
Just a thought.
