how to thin out XAMMP Portable and define start/stop order for embedded servers?gtludwig - September 4, 2009 - 12:28am
Hi all, First of all, congratulations, guys! Over the last 2 years I have grown very fond of several apps I found here! I was looking the other day for a way to make JBoss Application Server portable so I could send a client a sample of the JEE system I'm working on so he can run on this desktop without having to install and deploy the database sql script and the application. I found XAMMP here and was gladly surprised to find a Tomcat plugin for it (again gratz, guys!). Since I only need a MySQL and Tomcat (a portable JBoss AS would really be nice too!), how can I thin out XAMMP so it gets lighter? Also, upon plugging in the USB stick, I can make it autorun XAMMP, but how can I specify the order of services to be brought up? Thanks in advance, ( categories: )

XAMPP isn't our work. I'm working on a much better system which will play better with PortableApps.com, but that's not here yet.
Using services with XAMPP is non-portable though. If it's something which requires services, you're stuck at the moment.
