Firefox crashes after Update

Updated Firefox to the latest version, and since then it crashes every time I do:
Tools - Options - Advanced (I hope these are the correct english menu items as I use the german version). All the older versions of Firefox where OK.

Going back to 3.5.1 solves the problem (but is probably not a good idea....)

Can someone help?

probably add-ons

try disabling some or all add-ons, then install new version

i think there is an add-on that will disable all add-ons

be sure to go to default icons and menus before disabling add-ons

i did not and lost my menu and toolbars, and was unable to access add-ons or anything else, had to start over from scratch, which was interesting in itself
