FF password storage

Is it just me or does FF portable refuse to store passwords?

I save my passwords on my

I save my passwords on my Firefox portable, and protect them with a Master Password. I also keep my passwords synced with Weave.

However I discard the cookies when I close Firefox since they could potentially be used to login into sessions I haven't closed.

Ok, thank you for the pointer.
After I knew that FF portbl. is not the issue ... I googled more and found that the "private browsing" has been redone in FF 3.5.
Private Browsing will also disable storing of passwords. There is no longer a separate option for the password manager.

"Customized Settings" for Private Browsing is the new option.
